Need to know: Practice changing emergency medicine research to improve your shifts

After participation in this session, learners will be able to:

• Confidently manage cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome in the ED
• Improve outcomes for ventilated patients by preventing VAP
• Apply high-sensitivity troponin algorithms to quickly and safely assess patients presenting with chest pain

Lauren is in her final year of the Royal College Emergency Medicine residency program at the University of Saskatchewan. She is currently the Editorial Intern for the Canadian Journal of Emergency Medicine and is looking forward to beginning her career as a clinician-researcher in the summer of 2025. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her two toddlers, Lennon and Henry, and partner Terry.
