Maya grew up on a farm just outside of Humboldt, Saskatchewan. After high school, she made the move to the big city (Saskatoon!) to complete her undergraduate degree and then medical school. She is absolutely thrilled to be staying in Saskatoon for residency.

Outside of the hospital, Maya enjoys staying active, cooking and baking, and getting outdoors to camp and hike with her husband, Brady.

Maya has been lobbying for a dog of her own for years, but Brady isn’t budging. As a compromise, she periodically kidnaps her parents’ dog, Zola, and keeps her for months at a time.
